Back View

This larger-than-life male torso represents Rama, the hero of the epic Ramayana, and one of the incarnations of Vishnu. Originally from the site of Koh Ker, capital of Cambodia from 921 to 944, the imposing statue would have stood in a temple sanctuary. Though missing head and limbs, the torso can be identified as Rama from the quiver strapped snugly over his shoulder.
